Meet Our Dentists

John C. Durling II, DDS

Born and raised in Fort Scott, Kansas, Dr. Durling graduated from Pittsburg State University in 1992 with a BS in Biology and is a member of Beta Beta Beta Biology Honor Society. Upon graduation from UMKC School of Dentistry in 1996, he practiced in Fort Scott and Pittsburg through 1999. He joined Dr. John Durling and Associates in December of 1999, and purchased the practice in 2001.

Dr. Durling appreciates how getting to know patients can help him better care for their dental needs. “By taking the time to listen to my patients, I can address their needs and wants, as well as offer information and an opportunity for them to accept the best dentistry available.”

Timothy Crawford, DMD

A native of Alberta, Canada, Dr. Crawford received a B.S. degree in psychology with honors at BYU before completing Ph.D. coursework at “Ole Miss” in clinical psychology with special emphasis on anxiety and traumatic stress. Dr. Crawford continued his studies at UMC School of Dentistry, where he graduated in 2010. He joined the ADC dental team in the fall of 2012 after practicing for a year at CHCSEK dental clinic in Pittsburg Ks.

Dr. Crawford understands the value of a comfortable & pleasant dental experience, and strives to provide excellent technical care with a gentle hand. His diverse graduate training offers a valuable behavioral skill-set that is rare in the field of dentistry.

Dr. Crawford is proud to be part of the Joplin community; along with his wife Daisy, and their five children.

W. Stuart Dexter, DDS

A native of Lincoln, Nebraska, Dr. Dexter studied Human Biology at the University of Kansas, where he was a fixture on the Honor Roll as well as being a member of the Kansas Varsity Crew Team and Biology Club. He accepted early admission into the University of Missouri – Kansas City Dental School and worked abroad during the course of his studies by participating in a Dental Outreach Program to Venezuela.

After receiving his degree in dentistry, Dr. Dexter has gone on to specialize in prosthodontics. He completed both his general practice and prosthodontic residencies at the VA Medical Center in Kansas City, and also took part in the Branemark Implant Training Course to round out his education. He then did an additional fellowship in maxillofacial prosthetics at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Dexter spent several years in an academic setting before turning his focus toward a private practice with an emphasis in prosthodontics. Now licensed to practice dentistry in Kansas and Missouri, he looks forward each day to providing ADC Dental’s patients with excellent care.
